This Privacy Policy explains how AfiCar Araç Kiralama ve Turizm Sanayi Ticaret Limited Şirketi ("AfiCar") collects, uses and protects the personal data of visitors to and customers of this website (aficar.net, the "Site"). AfiCar is the car rental company of the Afinitem group. For detailed information under Turkish law, please see the Privacy Notice (KVKK).
1. Data We Collect
Through the Site we only process data you knowingly submit via its forms (in a reservation request: name, phone, email, date of birth, year your driving licence was issued, optional flight number, pick-up/return location and time, vehicle and extras preferences, your note; in the corporate quotation and contact forms: company name and message content) and the minimum technical data required for the Site to function (cookies, hashed IP, language preference). The Site has no membership system; no payment is taken through the Site and no credit card details are collected. Copies of your ID and driving licence are collected at vehicle handover, not on the Site.
2. How We Use Data
We use your data to evaluate and confirm your reservation request, conclude and perform the vehicle rental agreement, carry out handover and return procedures, prepare corporate rental quotations, answer your questions, send newsletters where you have opted in, and improve the Site. Your data is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
3. Data Processed During the Rental
During the rental period, vehicle usage data such as vehicle tracking system (GPS) records, HGS/OGS toll passages, parking fees and traffic fine notifications are processed for vehicle security, statutory notifications (renter notification via KABİS under the Identity Notification Law No. 1774) and re-invoicing these charges to the renter against supporting documents. This data is shared only with insurance companies, HGS/OGS toll operators, banks and authorised public authorities, to the extent required by the relevant transaction. 4. IP-Based Language Detection
To open the Site in the appropriate language, we detect the visitor's country from the IP address. This is performed with a geographic database hosted locally on our servers; your IP address is never sent to any third party for this purpose, and raw IP addresses are not stored.
5. Cookies
In addition to strictly necessary cookies, we use a preference cookie that remembers your language choice and — subject to your consent — analytics cookies (Google Analytics, with IP anonymisation enabled). See the Cookie Policy for details and the cookie inventory. You can update your choices at any time via the "Change Cookie Preferences" link in the footer.
6. Data Security
Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS); access rights are restricted on a role basis; IP addresses are stored as hashes; document copies collected at handover are protected against unauthorised access and destroyed at the end of the retention period; our systems are kept up to date with security patches.
7. For EU Visitors (GDPR Information)
If you are visiting from or renting a vehicle while resident in the European Economic Area, the legal bases for our processing are GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) (contract — reservation and rental), 6(1)(c) (legal obligation — renter notification, traffic and tax legislation), 6(1)(f) (legitimate interests — vehicle security, damage and fine follow-up) and 6(1)(a) (consent — newsletters and non-essential cookies). Under the GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. 8. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed at persons under 18; renting a vehicle requires a minimum age of 21, depending on the vehicle class. We do not knowingly collect children's data.
